When did you first compete?
May 2006
What made you first compete?
I have been lifting religiously for quite sometime and was always told I should try it out. I just didn't think I had the will power to go through with it. I really thought about it and realized that this was a good way of letting my competitive side out again. The entire journey of training for a show and eventually feeling comfortable enough with my body to be on stage in front of hundreds of people really opened my eyes and gave me a chance to see what I was made out of. Even with the countless years of various organized sports that I was involved in, I never experienced something so challenging and rewarding in my entire life as I have with bodybuilding.
What is your workout schedule like?
45-60 min of cardio in the morning and 2 hours of lifting at night (with an extra hour of cardio at night a month out from my show)
What do you do when you're not training?
I hang out with two of the cutest kids in the world…my nieces! They have the ability of taking all my worries away, just by seeing them smile or hearing them laugh.
Favorite music & band?
Missy Elliott, Nickelback
Favorite Food?
Deep dish pizza, chips & salsa
Least Favorite Food?
Green Veggies, Fish
Favorite Junk Food?
Reese's PB Cups & Tootsie Rolls
Favorite Dream Car
Lotus Elise & H3
Any significant others?
No. Not right now.
What makes a great man/woman?
Someone with common interests, intelligent, a good listener, a sense of humor, and who is close with their family. It is also very important that they understand what you have to do to compete in this sport and are supportive of it.
What pisses you off?
Know-it-alls and people that find it necessary to degrade others just to make themselves feel better.
Thoughts about Chicago cab drivers?
They are maniacs…which I appreciate only when I am the one in the cab
What do want to say to your fans ?
This is a one person journey. If you want to win, plain and simple, YOU work for it. It is very important to have a solid support system in your life, but the fact of the matter is, the fate of this journey lies in YOUR hands. Dig deep inside yourself, because when you finally get to the top, the sense of motivation and accomplishment is… Indescribable.
Where do you want to take this?
I would like to eventually compete in a national natural show
